These comprehensive programs cover both operational and pre-operational procedures, crane signaling, and rigging that are essential for safer crane and hoist operation.

OSHA’s new Cranes and Derricks Standard has several implications on the training of those who work with cranes. AEF is addressing this issue by offering the course Qualified Signal Persons and Rigging Training. The AEF training program ensures that your cranes and hoists are being properly used. As a result, the program may not only reduce the risk of accidents, and downtime, but, will also increase crane productivity, in some cases customers have boasted increases in production of as much as 30%.

This training program is held at our facility in Fishers, Indiana or at your company location and can be conducted by one or more of our highly skilled instructors. Training booklets, videos, written exams and more are course tools that have been specially developed and written to meet current industry and governmental standards… making it the most thorough program for crane riggers and signal-persons ever developed. AEF provides one of the only training programs for signal-persons and riggers that has both a written examination and a practical examination.

The Qualified Signal Persons and Rigging Training offered by the AEF meets all of the qualification requirements under the new standard. It is an eight-hour training course on both operational and pre-operational procedures, crane signaling, and rigging. At the end of the course, attendees will be issued a “Qualified Signal Person and Rigging” certificate good for three years.
